Cookie Policy
Last updated
Watt48 doesn’t use cookies, for analytics, advertising, or anything else, which is why there’s no cookie banner. The calculator does save your setup in your browser’s local storage so it can remember it; this page explains exactly what that is.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Watt48 doesn’t set any, and neither does anything the site loads: there are no ads, social media widgets, embedded videos, or third-party trackers.
What the site saves in your browser
The calculator keeps one item in your browser’s local storage. It’s created when you make your first choice in the calculator; reading the rest of the site saves nothing.
- Name
watt48-calculator- Type
- Local storage, not a cookie
- Purpose
- Remembers your calculator setup so you can continue where you left off.
- What it holds
- Your use case, the devices you picked or added (names, wattages, run times, and quantities), and your runtime plan.
- How long
- Until you clear it. It has no expiry date.
- Who can read it
- Only Watt48 pages in this browser. It isn’t sent to our servers or to anyone else.
Unlike a cookie, local storage isn’t sent along with requests to the site. If you used the calculator before the site was renamed Watt48, your setup may be saved as voltflow-calculator; it moves to the new name the next time you open the calculator.
Analytics without cookies
Watt48 counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or store anything in your browser. It tells visits apart with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what it records.
Clearing your saved setup
- In the calculator, Start over in the header clears your selections.
- To remove the item entirely, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
- In a private or incognito window, it’s removed when you close the window.
- If your browser blocks storage, the calculator still works; it just won’t remember your setup.
Other websites
When you follow a link to a manufacturer’s site or to GitHub, those sites may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If Watt48 ever needs cookies or saves anything else in your browser, we’ll list it here and update the date at the top.
